Utility Rebates Available
Minnesota's largest utilities offer substantial rebates for insulation improvements. We work directly with these programs to maximize your savings.

Xcel Energy
Twin Cities metro and Central Minnesota (St. Cloud area)
- Attic insulation: 40% of cost up to $1,200 (pre R-19 or less, post R-49+)
- Wall insulation: 40% of cost up to $1,200 (empty cavity required, post R-11+)
- Air sealing: 40% of cost up to $600 (paired with attic or wall; ≥15% blower-door reduction)
- Heat pump bonus: +$600 if a qualifying heat pump follows within 2 years
Participating contractor required. Rebates are stackable across measures. Cooling-only flat rebates available for non-Xcel-heat homes.

CenterPoint Energy
Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding gas-service territory
- Wall insulation: Up to $1,500 (pre R-5 or less, post R-11+)
- Attic insulation + air sealing combo: Up to $1,300 (pre R-30 or less, post R-49+)
- Air sealing only: Up to $750 (full attic-leak scope)
- Rim joist insulation add-on: Up to $200 (with attic or wall project)
Gas-heat customers only. Rebate Eligible Installer required. Standalone foundation, crawl space, and unpaired rim joist projects are not eligible.

Minnesota Energy Resources
Brainerd, Alexandria, and central/southern Minnesota
- Sidewall insulation: 50% of cost up to $750 (post R-13+)
- Attic insulation + air sealing: 50% of cost up to $650 (post R-49+)
- Air sealing only: 50% of cost up to $300 (≥25% reduction)
- Foundation + rim joist combo: 50% of cost up to $425 (must pair with another improvement)
Gas-heat customers only. Authorized Insulation Contractor (AIC) required — no DIY. Affordable-housing applicants get the 50% cap waived.

Otter Tail Power
Western and northwestern Minnesota service territory
- Attic insulation: 40% of cost up to $1,000 (pre ≤R-20, post R-44+)
- Wall insulation: 40% of cost up to $1,000 (pre ≤R-8, post R-13+)
- Air sealing: 40% of cost up to $800
- Annual cap: $2,800 per home, per calendar year
Electric primary heat required. Contractor-installed. Part of Otter Tail's Conservation Improvement Program (CIP). Confirm current amounts on the latest rebate application.
Federal Tax Credit — Section 25C
ExpiredThe federal Section 25C energy efficiency tax credit, which previously offered up to $1,200/year for qualifying insulation improvements, expired at the end of 2025 and was not renewed for 2026.
We are actively monitoring federal legislation for any reinstatement or new energy efficiency tax credits. This page will be updated if new federal incentives become available.
